Classic UK Minitrix Models  -  Mallard
Sir Nigel Gresley

Sir Nigel Gresley is one of the Minitrix Models that I do not possess.  It is identical in almost every respect to the A4 Mallard model, except of course for the body shell and the fact that the main drive wheels and front bogey wheels are painted red.

A friend, Les, trusted me with his model which was running eratically, and did not respond properly to being professionally repaired.  I took it apart, cleaned it up, found a number of electrical and mechanical faults - so typical of the faults found on my own Mallard and documented on these pages and I sent it back running like a sewing machine.   I was so reluctant to see it go.  I took photos of the repair for this site, but forgot to take one of it fully assembled.

For this, I have to thank Jeremy, who kindly sent me the above photo to include on the site..
